Public SafetyThe top priority for the City Council should be to ensure that we have safe neighborhoods to live and work in. The Council must ensure its residents have enough first responders, with the best equipment & training, to serve the people of our community. In the last 6 years on the Council, Roland has worked to create the new Regional Police Training Academy which will ensure we have the best first responders in Texas. He has also supported the creation of several new police & fire substations to make sure fast response times during an emergency.

Expand the EconomyThe City Council also has the responsibility of creating an economic environment that produces high-paying jobs for its residents. With a predictable economic environment, we can attract & develop a wide variety of businesses in our community. As the City Councilman, Roland has worked to diversify our local economy by expanding the medical and technology industries in Corpus Christi. However, we also need to increase our focus on developing the economies of other places in Corpus Christi, like the Island, Flour Bluff, Calallen, and North Beach.
